WebsiteGecko exists because most hosting reviews are ads in disguise. Providers pay for top spots, reviewers copy each other's lists, and nobody actually tests anything. We wanted to do better.
We're a small, independent team based in the Netherlands. We buy our own hosting accounts, install test websites, and monitor them for weeks before writing a single word. Our goal is simple: help you find the right hosting without the noise.
Every claim we make is backed by our own testing data. Speed numbers, uptime stats, support response times — all measured ourselves.
We review hosting from a European perspective: GDPR compliance, EU server locations, and support quality for European customers.
No provider has ever paid for a higher ranking. Our recommendations are based on test results, not commissions.
We buy real hosting accounts with our own money. Then we install identical test websites and monitor them for at least 30 days before publishing any review.

This is how we fund our testing. But it never affects our rankings. If a provider pays higher commissions but performs worse in our tests, they rank lower. Period.
No provider has ever paid for a higher ranking on WebsiteGecko. No provider has ever seen a review before publication. No provider has editorial input on our content.
If we test a provider and they're bad, we say so. If a provider improves, we update our review. Our recommendations are based on data, not relationships.
